The Grove Hall Farmers Market opens Tuesday July 12th, and will be open from 3 to 7 p.m weekly on Tuesdays until October 25, 2011. Vendors at the market include Land’s Sake Farm of Weston, MA and The Trustees of Reservations’ Brookwood Farm - the farmers will sell a variety of fresh locally grown produce. (UPDATE 7/11: The farms for Grove Hall have apparently dropped their participation. The market has been temporarily suspended and the schedule may change.)

Mattapan Farmers Market 2011

The Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition sponsors a farmers’ market weekly in Mattapan Square – in front of the Church of the Holy Spirit at 525 River Street. The Mattapan Farmers’ Market provides a wide variety of fresh, affordable, organic fruits and vegetables from local farms and vendors, including the Clark-Cooper Community Gardens, the Brookwood Community Farm, a working organic farm and education center located in Milton and Canton, MA, that was among the founding members of Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition, and Powisset Farm a community supported agriculture project in Dover, MA. The market also offers various fun, free activities and workshops!

ReVision Farm Stand 2011

VISIT THE REVISION FARM STAND! Open for business for the 2011 season on Thursday, July 7, 2011. ReVision Farm has a farm stand located at 1062 Blue Hill Avenue at the corner of Arbutus Street. The Farm Stand will be open every week on Thursday and Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Offerings will vary with the season, but are fresh-grown a short distance from the farm stand – prices are always very affordable.

Ashmont Farmers’ Market 2011

The Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers’ Market returns for its third season on Friday, July 8, 2011.

The market is located on the plaza in front of Ashmont T station, at the corner of Ashmont Street and Dorchester Avenue – farmers and vendors include Spring Brook Farm of Littleton, Langwater Farm of North Easton, Dorchester’s own Cedar Grove Gardens, Dorchester Arts Collaborative, and Dot-2-Dot Cafe! 

The market, running every Friday 3 to 7 PM through mid-October, accepts SNAP/Food Stamp benefits, WIC and Senior Nutrition coupons.  And SNAP shoppers can get up to $20 worth of veggies at half price through the Boston Bounty Bucks program!
