Bowdoin-Geneva Farmers Market, Thursdays 3-6:30

Bowdoin Farmers MarketThe Bowdoin-Geneva Farmers Market opened the first week of July with a Healthy Summer Kickoff featuring an annual Community Health Fair.

July 29 is SENIOR DAY at the market – all seniors that attend get 2 free ears of corn.  In addition, for any low-income seniors that need help purchasing food, Kit Clark will be distributing $30 in Senior Farmers’ Market Coupons to all eligible seniors from 1-2:30pm at the Haitian Center (22 Beechwood Street in Dorchester, right behind the Holland School). The coupons can be used at any farmers’ market in the city throughout the farmers’ market season.  There will be a very limited number of coupons.  Seniors must bring:

- ID, or proof of age (must be over 60 years old)

- Proof of limited income (i.e. evidence of participation in another program serving low-income clients, such as SSI, Section 8 Housing, Food Stamps, or Energy Assistance).

This program is open to all seniors, not just Kit Clark clients.   Arrive early for the best chance to get the coupons.
