Geneva Cliffs Youth Environment Team – Summer 2010 Youth Job Description

Responsibilities: 8-10 Youth Environment Team members will work outdoors in “natural areas” at Geneva Cliffs Urban Wild and other nearby parks in Bowdoin/Geneva and Four Corner, Dorchester. Members will learn about the environment as they take on conservation projects like trail up-keep, landscaping, and other outdoor activities. The Team may also: survey residents about Geneva Cliffs, organize recycle art activities for children onsite or prepare info about the Cliffs for the website. Field trips will include visits to other green projects and careers in the City.

Requirements:

  • 15-17 years old, Boston residents
  • registered with Boston Hopeline
  • physical work outdoors in all kinds of weather
  • interest in naural environment
  • work as part of a team, follow instructions
  • commitment to be on time
  • desire to make a difference in your communityNumber of positions: 8-10
    Work schedule: 9:30AM – 2:30PM, Mon-Fri, July 6 – August 13, 2010
    Stipend: $8 per hour, 25 hours per week, for six weeks
